I'm sorry but a wrap around goal has you swooning????? Chris Neil can do that...

edit: i watched the whole thing and what i should have said was "a lucky wrap around goal" it went off the defender's skate or it would have missed the net entirely. no thanks.

Yikes 6"3 but 163 pounds seems like he's gotta put some weight on .. Always hype with these players overseas .. It's a low risk high reward

You can't just look at the end result. He was the guy who gained the zone and fought off a defender to pass the puck. Then he made a heads up play to fake the shot on the rebound, wheel around the net and shoot the puck. He was doing everything on that play and it was an amazing shift. He basically put the team on his back.

I think I read somewhere that he is 190 lbs... European leagues are notorious for doing a bad job at recording things like that. We probably won't know how much he actually weighs until he comes over.

We don't have to give up anything to sign him and have lots of cap room and a shortage of scoring wingers. Definitely worth a look

ok, i'll play, he gained the zone and immediately skated to the boards where he almost ran into his teammate and then lost the puck, then disappeared out of the zone, luckily the puck came back to him. he fought off some of the weakest defending ever, one hand on the stick, stick checking, shot on a wrap around attempt and missed the net but hit a defender's skate and luckily it bounced in. So again, no thanks.

You can get a Fabian Brunnstrom or a Mats Zuccarello. Worth a shot, I hope the Avs are one of the teams who gave him an offer

Not sure what the big deal is. Only plus side to me is that he is just 21. Room to possibly grow. Murray loves his low risk high reward type deals, he just hasn't won on many that he has put forth.

Ottawa management has done a wonderful turning Kyle Turris from a 6'0 170 lbs center to almost 200 lbs. I'm sure they could do the same with Sekac.

Also, it strikes me how so many Czech players are always so skilled. One has to think if Ottawa trades Spezza to St.Louis, they might want to get Jaskin as a piece in the return. Jaskin-Zibanejad-Sekac could be a deadly trio of forwards.

Meh, I would not give him more than a 2 way contract. Also, I'd rather Ottawa signs Da Costa to a 2-3 year 1 way deal and have him play on the wing of Zibanejad. I think the speed and puck control of those two guys and a finisher like Stone could make a really entertaining 3rd line.

def worth a risk, considering we may trade a prospect or 2 this summer might as well replace them without giving up anything in return , he's got the size at 6 3 ..

Hard to get excited about these guys....Jiri Dopita, Fabian Brunnstrom, the Monster, Damien Brunner, Anton Belov.....more often that not they don't translate in the NHL as well as the hype machines suggest...still, this guy is younger so if expectations are lower he can be developed.

Elite Prospects has him at 6"0 and 174 pounds which is actually a perfect height/size ratio. His career stats aren't anything special. He's a bottom-six player in the NHL at best.

Surprised that Buffalo hasn't been mentioned to be in on this.

Cap hit helps us in reaching the floor and he's still young. He'll probably get a decent amount of ice time as well.

Rather see them experiment with him than give a multi year deal to overpriced vet.

we don't need this guy theres players in the ahl or whl that are way better then this guy. 99 percent of the time these guys are a bust. small ice surface and faster pace will eat him alive.

I didn't notice anything unorthodox about his skating ability.. He seemed to have good speed, & he has decent size if he bulked up over the summer.. A little lucky on the wrapper off the skate goal. Good skilful hockey play none the less. Like you said Travis, you can never have enough good players.. One thing Ottawa's going to have next season is a ton of cap space & forward positions to fill. I'd like to see Murray take a chance on some skillful young euros, I mean you could possibly find a jem.

100% Bubba. These guys never amount to much. I challenge anyone to name 1 guy to go undrafted from Europe that has become a legit All-Star in this league.

Holy crap you deserve to cheer for a losing team.

Anyway, wouldn't hurt to make an offer, low risk. Maybe there's oppurtunity for him on this team that he wouldn't get on others.
